Como dizer "subir pra cima" ou "descer pra baixo" em Inglês

Pensei em "Mr. X rised up" (... subiu pra cima) e "Mr. X descended down" (... desceu para baixo), ambas pleonásticas.

Talvez não pudéssemos ter:

"Mr. X fell upward" (... caiu pra cima) nem "Mr. X went up downward" (... subiu pra baixo).

Não sei se existe equivalente para "subir pra cima" e "descer pra baixo", mas eu sempre achei "to enter into" muito parecido com "entrar pra dentro" (ô coisa esquisita).

Que tal:

Go up upwards / Go down downwards

To go up
He went to the top of the mountain. (He went up the mountain.)

To go down (to descend)
She went (descended) to the bottom of the stairs. (She went down the stairs.)

There is no need to say "to descend down" because "down" is implied by the verb "to descend". It would be like saying "the water was wet".

When "to rise" is used with humans, it usually means to get out of bed, stand up, etc. Sometimes it is used in the sense "he rose to the top of the medical field". Note that "to rise" is irregular, and you rose yesterday, you rise today, and you also rise tomorrow.
