Ter receio de (alguma coisa) = to fight shy of (sth) - British
if you fight shy of something, you do not feel willing to do it because it might cause problems for you (Macmillan)

Ter receio de = be apprehensive of
It's a strategy that many teachers are apprehensive of using.

"Tenho receio de magoar alguém" dá pra traduzir como "I fear I will hurt somebody"

Por exemplo, pra você dizer "Receio que não", usa-se "I fear not."
