Como é o "Going To" no passado?

Eaí gente, eu fiquei sabendo que tem um modo no passado do "Going to"... Como seria esse passado, escrevendo mesmo? Seria igual no futuro do pretérito, tipo "Would"? : )

Não entendi direito a sua pergunta. sorry. Você está falando de frases do tipo?

É isso? se for isso, vc usa essa forma (was/were + going to + verb) pra falar de algo que vc esperava que acontecesse, mas que por algum motivo acabou não acontecendo. mais exemplos:
My mother always thought I was going to be a vet because of my love for animals. I turned out to be a teacher, though.
We were going to travel to my in-laws' this weekend. However, we had to cancel our trip when they called us saying they'd spend the weekend away.
Ah, e claro: was/were going to é diferente de would porque would expressa habitual past. as in:
I still have many fond memories of the time when I used to spend Christmas with my grandparents. I still remember how my grandfather would tell us the most amazing stories and all the children would gather in the living room to listen to him.

Não sei, pois eu ouvi meu amigo dizendo que tinha, aí fiquei curioso... : P e também meu professor falou que tinha, mas deve ser isso mesmo, thanks!

Essa é uma dúvida minha também. Vi esses dias um post no facebook com a seguinte construção: "If I knew I wasn't gonna fall asleep in the last two hours, I could have been using the Internet!" Achei que essa combinação do was/were going to , nesse caso, gonna, só era usado com reported speech.
