olhe gente tá difícil de aprender preposições, não com regras, se é que tem dá para entender.
porque na frase abaixo se coloca IN e naõ FROM?
He saw her as the most attractive woman IN the world.
eu já procurei no fórum e não há explicação para esse acontecimento eu coloquei FROM the world.
porque na frase abaixo se coloca IN e naõ FROM?

I think it is because the woman lives in this world and you are also in here.
You live IN this world. To be FROM this world, it should be another world, and you would be supposed to be there to make your sentence makes sense... right?

Ex: He saw her as the most attractive woman IN the world.
usually the preposition from is somehow related to specific origins or starting points. Although the main intention in your sentence regards origin it is not from a specific place as in senteces like I'm from Brazil, She is from New Jersey or that table is from India.
Besides, most of the words in English occur associated to collocations just like:
She is the most beautiful woman in the world;
They are the happiest couple on earth ;
We live in São Paulo (city)
I live on Main street (street / avenue)
I live at 2376, Main street (full adress)

Seguindo o raciocínio do Daniel, é assim que eu vejo a coisa: o "do" inglês e o "do" português significam coisas diferentes.
Pensando em inglês
ESTRANHO: Ela é a mulher mais atraente [que vem] do (from) mundo.
NORMAL: Ela é a mulher mais atraente [que está] no (in) mundo.
Pensando em português
ESTRANHO: Ela é a mulher mais atraente [que vem] do mundo.
NORMAL: Ela é a mulher mais atraente [que faz parte] do mundo.
NORMAL: Ela é a mulher mais atraente [que está] no mundo.
Uma coisa que dá certo comigo: não foco tanto em aprender as preposições separadamente (in, on, at, ...) mas em aprender as ideias (in the world, on earth, at the same address, from her country) formadas pelas palavras, que é mais ou menos o mesmo que estudar collocations.
Mas em vez de decorar collocations - o Oxford Collocations Dictionary tem mais de 9 000 páginas em tamanho A4 - é melhor aprender as ideias à medida que você vai lendo.
