Vi um banner na net que mostrava as frutas como contáveis o que é coerente e ao mesmo tempo aparecia fruit como incontável.

When you speak of "species/groups" than you use the word fruits, when you talk about them in general.
So overall, fruit is good for your health.
Fruits are usually eaten raw, although some varieties can be cooked.
Here the sentence was thought about several types of fruits, notice that it mentions "varieties" afterwards.
