Tradução de "Hammer it down past it"

Simon Vasconcelos 7 89
For months, I was dizzy every time I stood up. What was happening was that my heart was starting to pump blood less efficiently, but I told my doctor I thought I might have diabetes. She took a blood test and weighed me and said it must be stress, and that I was "slightly underweight". The fact that it was "slight" and not severe was terrible to me. I let my weight slide toward the 7st mark, then I did everything I could to hammer it down past it.

"I let my weight slide toward the 7st mark, then I did everything I could to hammer it down past it."

First of all, I have no idea what "7st" means. Perhaps a typo, meaning weight in the 70s kg range. What we need to do, with the expression in question, is to assign the proper antecedent to each "it":

I let my weight slide toward the 7st mark, then I did everything I could to hammer it [the weight] down past it [the 7st mark].

"To hammer it down" means to decrease, in this case a quantity, "past" (além de) a certain level. "Martelar abaixo de um certo nível", se é possivel dizer isso em português.

Does that make sense to you?

7st mark - seven stone mark - 44,45 kg
"I let my weight slide toward the 7st mark, then I did everything I could to hammer it down past it." - Eu deixei meu peso abaixar para 44,5 quilos, então fiz tudo o que pude para diminuí-lo ainda mais.
