To my thinking the product and the sale was processed
to the point of sale (POS) system, but it is not inventoried yet. It´s the closest to a simplistic answer here.
One example would be the cashier at a supermarket records the sale just made
, in a location 000 (previously programmed to record not inventoried items) that can be changed afterwards.
An example here:http://www.mtouchpos.com/enter-product- ... e-systems/
In other words, the item in and out is recorded, there´s a control. But at the time of the inventory some data of the item will be changed to become a permanent information. Then the item will be part of the inventory in an "official/permanent" way.
This is by way of information and illustration, computer-savvy guys would use the right techie words.
