Vejo essa tradução muito em filmes principalmente sobre besteirol americanos.
Cantinho do amasso é geralmente um lugar que os casais vão dar uns amassos.
Exemplo: Na biblioteca da faculdade há o cantinho dos amassos onde ao invés de estudarem os alunos vão nesse lugar para namorar.

O que vocês acham de make out place/zone/area/corner?

I saw those posts on a chat, the thread was make-out point. So, make-out point or make-out spot would express that. The places where sometime a single couple would go or maybe a make-out crowd (because teens in the U.S. Has a thing for cars).
So, here (partially) some posts:
Does your town/ city have a "well-known" spot that the teenagers go to-- perhaps you went there yourself- to make out in their cars?
If there's a place around my hometown, then I've never heard about it. Not that I had a car, or a girlfriend to be with in the car, when I was a teen.
I was well past teen years when I moved to Fort Collins, but I'm pretty sure that Horsetooth Reservoir, which overlooks the town, would be the primo make-out spot round here. (I may or may not have experiences to back-up this theory.
I know of a few secluded spots out here in L.A. But I'm not telling. Let the kids find them themselves.
