I would think that oversharing has to do "compartilhar demais" (dar "informações demais")
If you are 'targeted' by your metadata it would be some kind of "intrusion". Say, improperly accessing data (another way to think of "intromissão"), when it comes to the matter of privacy, etc.
Or in the case of malicious meddling into things that are your business.

The very question in the article makes a 'wordplay' of sorts:
"When we can share everything online, what counts as oversharing?

But then it softens the sentence with "when"..."online" (aqui pode-se mudar o sentido - "...num tempo em que se pode compartilhar tudo online...").
