Tem alguma palavra para atropelar sem ser "run over"?

Quero saber disso porque "run over" é um phrasal verb. Tem alguma palavra que não seja um phrasal verb que se traduza como atropelar?

Could be "overrun":
When the victim is actually overrun by a motor vehicle, the skin trauma may be related to contact with the roadway, the undersurface of the vehicle, or both.
Another word used is "knock down/hit/struck/", when it result in death it's commonplace to elaborate further with (a pedestrian, for instance) "struck and killed by a car" OR "fatally hit" (to avoid ambiguity - hit could be 'run over' or the victim could be dead).
And it can be expressed in other ways. I found it curious "run over" being reversed into "overrun"!

"To run over" é considerado um "phrasal verb" porque, além do verbo propriamente dito "run", existe a preposição "over". Então, quando preposições ou advérbios acompanharem verbos, estes serão considerados "phrasal verbs".
Podemos utilizar o verbo "to hit" para "atropelar", tanto que existe a expressão "hit-and-run" para dizer que alguém provocou uma colisão e fugiu.
