I'd like to know the meaning of this expression " It hits me "
I imagine maybe it means something like " Really? " " Oh! Don't tell me "

UK: The penny dropped (a ficha caiu)
USA: I've put two and two together (a ficha caiu).
Eu me dei conta (algo repentino e impactante), me apercebi.
2) It hits me that... (present)
I suddenly realize that...
"My memory isn't good, you know? Usually when I arrive at a meeting, it hits me that I forgot to bring something, like my money or another important thing".

De acordo com o dicionário Cambridge, "hit" também tem o sentido de "think":
(informal way) If an idea or thought hits you, you suddently think of it.
for example: The idea for the book hit me in the middle of the night.
As expression, I'm not totally sure, also means the same of "it bothers me".
Algo que o encomoda.

It hits me = eu não entendo.
Ex : portuguese, it hits me.

Acho que tem mais o sentido de "me pegou", "mexeu comigo", "me atingiu"
Dá para traduzir quase literalmente, já que hit pode ser golpe, impacto.
