TURNING PAGE
I've waited a hundred years Eu havia esperado por cem anos
But I'd wait a million more for you Mas eu esperaria mais um milhão por você
Nothing prepared me for Nada me preparou para
What the privilege of being yours would do O que o privilégio de pertencer a você faria
If I had only felt the warmth within your touch Se eu ao menos tivesse sentido o calor do seu toque
If I had only seen how you smile when you blush Se eu ao menos tivesse visto como você sorri quando cora
Or how you curl your lip when you concentrate enough Ou como você curva seus lábios quando você se concentra bastante
I would have known what I was living for all along Eu saberia pelo que eu estaria vivendo por todo esse tempo
What I've been living for Pelo que eu tenho vivido
Your love is my turning page Seu amor é o meu recomeço
Where only the sweetest words remain Onde restam apenas as palavras mais doces
Every kiss is a cursive line Cada beijo é uma linha cursiva
Every touch is a redefining phrase Cada toque é uma expressão redefinidora
I surrender who I've been for who you are Eu entrego quem eu fui por quem você é
For nothing makes me stronger than your fragile heart Pois nada me torna mais forte do que seu coração frágil
If I had only felt how it feels to be yours Se eu ao menos tivesse sentido como é pertencer a você
Well, I would have known what I've been living for all along Então, eu saberia pelo que estive vivendo o tempo todo
What I've been living for Aquilo pelo que tenho vivido
Though we're tethered to the story we must tell Embora estejamos presos à história que devemos contar
When I saw you, well, I knew we'd tell it well Quando vejo você, então, eu sei que a contaríamos bem
With a whisper, we will tame the vicious seas Com um sussurro, nós domaremos os mares turbulentos
Like a feather, bringing kingdoms to their knees Como uma pena, fazendo reinos se ajoelharem

NOTES:

(1) The song's title Turning page comes from turning the page, a metaphor for a new beginning, the continuation of a story, or overcoming something. According to the context from Sleeping At Last's song, it means that love rewrites life, becoming a new chapter full of meaning, commitment, and a fresh start alongside the loved one. In other situations, it can also symbolize the need to move on. It is not only related to love and relationships but also to new beginnings or perspectives.

(2) The song Turning Page from Sleeping At Last is famous for being the soundtrack of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1, and the title describes feelings such as love and friendship strong enough to change someone. Breaking Dawn – Part 1 is a fantasy and romance movie released in 2011, being the fourth in the popular franchise based on the books by Stephenie Meyer.

(3) The term cursive line refers to cursive writing (also known as handwriting). Cursive writing is a style of handwriting in which the letters of a word are connected to each other in a continuous flow, allowing the entire word to be written with a single stroke of pen or pencil on paper. In contrast, block letters have separate letters. The cursive style is often associated with faster and more fluid writing.

(4) To tether is a verb. It means to tie, bind, or secure something or someone with a rope, chain, or similar device, usually to limit their movement to a specific area. Check some examples:

A) He tethered his horse to a post.
>> Ele amarrou seu cavalo a um poste.

B) She felt tethered to her desk by the heavy workload.
>> Ela se sentia presa à sua mesa pela carga de trabalho pesada.

C) You can tether your phone to your laptop to get online.
>> Você pode conectar seu telefone ao seu laptop para acessar a internet.

(5) If-clauses followed by would have known are part of the Third Conditional structure used for unreal past conditions. It follows the pattern: If + past perfect, would have + past participle. It expresses a hypothetical past situation and its imagined result in the past that did not happen, often used to talk about regret.
THIRD CONDITIONAL Translation (1) Translation (2)
If I had studied, I would have passed the exam. Se eu tivesse estudado, eu teria passado no exame. Se eu estudasse, eu passaria no exame.
If you had told me, I would have come. Se você tivesse dito para mim, eu teria vindo. Se você dissesse para mim, eu viria.
If I had seen how you smile, I would have known what I was living for all along. Se eu tivesse visto como você sorri, eu teria sabido pelo que eu estava vivendo o tempo todo. Se eu visse como você sorri, eu saberia pelo que eu vivia o tempo todo.
Cf.: Conditionals

In Brazilian Portuguese language, the Third Conditional can be translated into two forms.

(1) The first one is related to Past Perfect Subjunctive (Pretérito-mais-que-perfeito do Subjuntivo). It indicates an event or action that happened in the past but did not materialize. It is the verb form used in conditional sentences that refer to a past situation.

(2) The second one is related to Pretérito Imperfeito do Subjuntivo. This tense does not have a direct equivalent in English language, but it is expressed through the Past Subjunctive. It indicates a hypothesis, desire, or condition that could have happened in the past.
