This song is great to work on chunks of language, with usual words that better collocate other words, in this song we can see ‘move’ , ‘break’ ‘step’ ‘fake’ ‘without’ .
And is is great to learn this kind of chunks through songs, because they stick to our minds easily. And some of them, if we were to think only by guessing would be understandable, but not natural, like ‘pretend a smile’.
Every time I work with songs in my class I try to break chunks or collocations – of course vocabulary is important, but it’s always the same old – my students love doing it, and it’s challenging when you do that, and as it always is, they memorize, and it’s fun!
Songs by Linkin Park or other rock bands (often the ones that tell us stories), usually have bigger and richer lyrics with lots of expressions and chunks, of course.
Great post!
Thanks Jefferson!
Cheers!

Hi, Diego
I don’t know, but I think, that is, I’m sure I’m addicted to the English language, because everything related to English I simply love, whereas I have been trying to learn a little bit more and being a mere student of this wonderful language. I think the most important thing in life is to be on focus with any kind of song or anything else so that everyone can take advantage a little more about it. I’m sorry if I make some mistakes in writing over here.
Thanks a lot and God be with you.
Bye.
