Sim, você pode usar "a bit".
Mais um exemplo:
I feel a bit better now. [= a little]

Sim, "a bit" precede adjetivos. "A bit of" precede substantivos. Observe:
I may need a bit of help.
Eu posso precisar de um pouco de ajuda.
I want to spend a bit of time with him before he goes.
Eu quero passar um pouco de tempo com ele antes que ele vá.
Neste casos, "a little" também pode ser usado. "A little help", "a little time", etc.
