Como dizer "A mentalidade era diferente" em inglês
Eu estava conversando com um amigo e eu queria falar que no tempo da minha mãe e meu irmão, a mentalidade era diferente, porque era outra época, então a maneira de pensar era outra. Não lembro o que disse, mas sei que falei errado. Pesquisei como dizer o que queria, porém estou em dúvida se está certo.

"...back in my mother and in my brother's days, things weren't like this..."
" This does not apply to my mother brother because in their times the mindset was different..."
With the last sentence - you can elaborate that it was "the society" mindset at the time, or that "it was their mindsets" - both of them, which may or may not have changed, compared to today (and comparing them to themselves, now.)
