Se o contexto em tela se trata da forma literal da palavra "watch" como substantivo (noun) seu significado é "relógio".
Nesse caso a resposta seria "NÃO":
"Do we put a watch on the wall?"
"No, we don't."
Isso porque o relógio que coloco na parede é "clock."
"Watch" seria o relógio de pulso, bolso...

Watches, also nowadays usually wristwatches (the wearable ones). They could also be pocket watches, pendant watches, etc. So, in general, watches are portable ones.
In the beggining there were only clock-watches, then evolved also into watches, then became popular with the creation of wristwatches.
Somehow back to the question, you can pin a clock (or "hang a wall clock") on the wall by using a sturdy nail or screw (or hooking it by adhesive, but I think it's not 100% safe).
