well just wanted to add some extra info please don't get me wrong.

you may say 'It's a steal' and also that's a rip-off when someone tells you a price of a certain good and you know that's not worthy for or maybe it's just overated.
However you also may say (ironicly) 'it's a steal' when you mean something is really really cheap all right?

Explicação simples:
"To steal" é um verbo e significa roubar.
"Steal", substantivo, não significa roubo.

o roubo do supermercado --> the supermarket robbery
Fui vítima de um roubo --> I was robbed.

A única tradução para steal, quando usado como substantivo, é "a product that has a very low price, or a price that is much lower than the original cost"

Portanto, It's a steal = Isto é uma pechincha.

Ah! e quanto a expressão "Isso é um roubo!" = "What a rip-off!"

No, It's a steal would be exactly like 'Isso é uma pechincha!'

For 'Isso é um roubo' you would say:
That's thievery!

Por coincidencia li hoje no livro "Aprenda 488 gírias e expressões em inglês" a gíria "Cost an arm and a leg" com significado de "custar muito caro, os olhos da cara"

Isto é um roubo (está cobrando demais)! = This is highway robbery!. This is robbery!
Isto é uma pechinha (está cobrando pouco por uma coisa de valor)! = This is a steal.

How strange. The two expressions use similar words to mean entirely different things.
