Spazzy - Tradução em português

Olá pessoal, agradeço por me ajudarem aqui, comentando, tirando dúvidas, obrigado!
Estou lendo "Eat, Pray, Love" e estou tento dificuldades com algumas palavras que eu não tenho conseguido achar o significado.
Eu não achei o significado para "spazzy" e mesmo assim não consegui entender mais ou menos do que se trata pelo contexto.
Aqui está o trecho:

"Looking for Truth is not some kind of spazzy free-for-all, not even during this, the great age of the spazzy free-for-all"

A propósito, podem me explicar o que significa "not even" nesse contexto? É uma expressão?

spazzy = inútil, sem valor, que não vale a pena, inepto

Achei o significado de spazzy como enlouquecer ou ter espasmos, assim, dentro do contexto spazzy free for all seria como um delírio coletivo. Not even = Nem mesmo, not even during this = nem mesmo durante isto, the great age of the spazzy free for all = a maior era do delirio coletivo, da loucura e etc...

Spatz stands for "klutz" or "stupid", Collins has an entry with "an incompetent person". The Online Dictionary defines it as "out of one's mind" and related with "crazy" (in a crazy way, I would say).

As something like a chaotic, uncontrolled or insane "free-for-all" (cada um por si). Actually, I think of the imagery of people looking for something without directions, without a goal, with no clues, no idea where to go, etc. But aware that you need to find it, and fast.

Somehow the author stating "...not some kind of spazzy free-for-all." strikes me as something on the lines of "não uma corrida louca/irresponsável" pela busca da verdade. That is, "uma busca 'de qualquer jeito' (desenfreada até) pela verdade.

Dictionaries usually have the word "spaz", and that made me think of the Italian word "pazzo" (crazy/mad/insane/stupid). Since it usually is mentioned as being mostly a Brit expression/word, it could be from the Italian one.
But, guesswork of mine, count it as one of my ramblings!
