Como dizer "Acelerar" em inglês

Para dizer "acelerar", "ir mais rápido" em inglês, sugiro (além do que já foi mostrado):

• She stepped on the gas and the car accelerated.
• Ela pisou no acelerador e o carro acelerou.

• The plane accelerated down the runway.
• O avião acelerou na pista de decolagem - aterrissagem.

• Acelera senão eu vou perder o meu voo.

• Por favor, acelera. Nós estamos atrasados.

• Can't you speed up? We will never get there.
• Não dá para acelerar? Nós nunca vamos chegar lá.

• The driver stepped on the gas and passed the truck.
• O motorista acelerou e ultrapassou o caminhão.

Acelerar - To push the gas pedal (push on the gas)
Frear - To push the break pedal (push on the breaks)
Derrapar - To skid

Pessoal, desculpe minha ignorância, mas eu não consegui entender o Frear e o Acelerar pois notei contextos diferentes em ambas as frases.
