Como dizer "bico" em inglês

A melhor expressão pra bico (trabalho informal) seria gig? Ou existe algo melhor?
Obrigado!

Olá Cristoledano,

Uso muito "casual work".Gig me parece estar relacionado a trabalho/emprego temporário.

Boa sorte

How're doing Cristoledano?

gig is perfectly corret but please be aware it's a slang .

Recentemente vi um vídeo no qual um indivíduo se referia à alguns bicos utilizando uma combinação com a palavra slash. Veja o exemplo abaixo:

what is your occupation?

Well I'm a writer/ food-runner/sales person

Dizemos: I'm a writter slash food-runner slash salesperson

Take care,

If you´re referring to undeclared, unregulated work (where the employer has not registered you to withhold taxes and pay benefits), then the accepted terminology is informal work. This is considered illegal, clandestine work.

You will see references to "the underground economy." That´s what is being referred to.

A "gig" is not typically defined as illegal work. It´s simply occasional, part-time, short-duration work. It´s a slang. Legislation in Canada, for instance, allows an employer to bring in people for short periods of excess business, without going through all the business of a full employment registration (although there are rules).

"Moonlighting" has the connotation of working at a second job -- you know, when the moon is out? It´s good slang.

Hope this helps.

As I've said, I heard this expression in Scrubs, when I used to watch it, and they, the characters who said this expression, had a job in the hospital and another one in some place else.
