Don't expect to find cachaça in the USA.

We had a few drinks/beers.
We had a kegger (drinking a keg of beer).
We had a "beer bust".
We kicked back and lifted a few.

To go on a drinking spree as in, "A mother found out her missing son had gone on a drinking spree."

No. A drinking spree has to do with or involves engaging in usu. a noisy, carefree bout or spell of drinking to intoxication. You could also say having a binge and embarking on a carousal produces the same effect. You will see those who drink in a quiet place and those who drink in a noisy one, none of whom may necessarily "cair na gandaia."
