Dash x Thrust: Qual a diferença

Have you seen the movie "The Incredibles"? The son's name is Dashel. His power is to run extremely fast. In the Olympics, Bolt runs the 100 meter Dash.

1) to dash: to run quickly and usually over short distances
ex: In his dash to get onto the subway car, he tripped and fell onto the tracks. (gross, I know)

2) to dash: to throw (or thrust) something violently
ex: Greeks like to dash their dinner plates to the floor.

1) to thrust: to push something with force, usually forward
ex: King Leonidas thrust his spear into the Persian attackers.
ex: (explicit) He thrust forward more rapidly, their bodies colliding, until he climaxed.

Difference: when you dash something, you usually throw the object and no longer have it in your hand, you no longer have control of it. When you thrust, you usually still have the object in your hand and have control over it.

Things you dash: rocks, plates, glass, people's heads to the ground, waves dash people against rocks in the ocean
Things you thrust: your body, pointed weapons, your finger in someone's face
