Jedson,

The only suggestion I would have, and it is a very very minor one, would be to use a comma after was, i.e. ... "ever read was, "The ..."

Overall a concise and well written sentence. :D
Greetings,

The best book I have ever read is the novel Nausea by Jean-Paul Sartre. It has been causing impact in my life since I read it one year ago.

I love his novels and intend to read all of them.

See you folks!

Rafael,

One very minor suggestion: Change your second sentence to read ... "has been impacting my life" ... In this case "causing" and "in" are not necessary as 'impacting" strongly implies these words. This is more concise, and I think slightly clearer. I have to admit, it is not much of an improvement, however small things often make a large difference.

What do you think?
Bill,

Well, I enjoy "the very minor change" you did which means a lot to me! I agree your suggestion improve my version, especially as regards to concision.

Please, feel free to show me the niceties. ;)
Well, i have the "bestS"

- Mist of Avalon (Brumas de Avalon)
- Lord of the rings (O senhor dos anéis)

And a few of Anne Rice.

Rafael,

Please consider this rewrite of the above, and then tell me why I made the changes (bold type)that I did.

Well, I "enjoyed" "the very minor change" you "made", which means a lot to me! I agree that your suggestion "improves" my version, especially as "it relates" to concision.

By the way your use of concision is EXCELLENT! Concision is a word very seldom used. :D :D
The best book I've ever read is

Title: Ensaio sobre a cegueira
Author: José Saramago
See you later
Bill,

- I used did rather made because there are too much doubts who brazilians have in order to choose between "do" and "make", since sometimes both have the same meaning, so I am a little bit justicified about that. I have to focus on this kind of choosing. I think you used made because you changed something, when we change something, make is the correct choosing.

- Improve instead of improves is an error typing.

- I used "I enjoy" in the simple present working as present perfect. I am not sure, but I read sometime which is weird to write "I understood", because if you understood something, "you have understood" that, so, in the informal form, we may say "I understand" working as present perfect. Well, I decided to use this trick for the verb enjoy. When I say "I ENJOY", it means I enjoyed an act or something occured and it has been impacting, therefore "I HAVE ENJOYED" or, my choosing, "I ENJOY". Wow, I am audacious! For sure I agree with your change. Tell me if I am outright insane about what I have just told! :)

- It is interesting the using of "it relates". Is poor the using of "as regards"?

Thank you in advance!

Rafael,

Made (past tense of make) is the better verb in this context see: http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/make

For enjoy versus enjoyed I think the past tense is more appropriate in your sentence.

I believe that the book is continuing to impact on your life therefore impacting is correct.

Finally it relates is a much better choice than regards in this context. http://thesaurus.com/browse/relates+to http://thesaurus.com/browse/regards

I hope that I have adequately explained the changes that I made, in your original post.

No, you are NOT insane, however I believe that you have a very inquisitive mind, and are trying hard to learn a very difficult subject.
Bill,

Your explanations were very worth. I will pay attention to the links you recommended me.

Thank you for the compliment!
That's def not an easy answer.

Some of my favorite books are:

"Dr. Zhivago" by Boris Pasternak, "The Sorrows of Young Werther" by J.W. Goethe, "Carrie" by Stephen King, etc.

P.S. I hope the authors I didn't mention don't come back to haunt me at night. :D

Rafael,

May I suggest using "worthwhile" instead of "worth", see: http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/worthwhile and

Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte.
I don't know if it's my favorite book, but certainly the most touching, heart wrenching, unforgettable book I've ever read. It's called "They cage the animals at night" by Jennings Michael Burch. It's about the writer's own life story going to several orphanages throughout his childhood and this little boy's struggle to survive to many abuses.

I don't know if this book is translated to portuguese, I don't think so, but if anyone is interested, I usually buy books in english from www.betterworldbooks.com
Rebeca,

Written like a native speaker, excellent work. The only suggestion I would make is to eliminate the word "to" before [b"]many abuses"[/b], or to substitute the word "too". However, based on the rest of the post, I suspect that this is probably a typo. Again very well done.
Bill,

Using worthwhile rather worth is interesting. You showed me a worthwhile tip. :)

Thanks a lot!

Hi,

Once more I was just "passing by" through this question and I've remembered another book that has taken my attention. It's "The Celestine Prophecy" by James Redfield. In my view, there are good lessons there! If you want to get more information about it, here you are:

Best Regards!
Tony Robbins has a lot of great material out there that has had a profound impact on my life. Mostly his audio programs, but his books are amazing as well - "Unlimited Power" is probably the most famous one. Highly recommended. If you want to just get a taste for his work, pick up a copy of "Notes From A Friend" - it's a summary of some of his best ideas in a short little book that's easy to read.
I think it is Harry Potter.

I don't have a best one, I love they all. But, if you ask me to choose one, it'll be Harry Potter.
I like of "A cabana" really is a nice book.
I also like of "Sherlock Holmes, The Vampire Diaries"
But recently i'm reading books
I have a lot of books that I love to read again and again but the one that comes in my mind every time someone asks me this question is "Dostoievski's Crime and Punishment" for sure.

I always carry it with me wherever I go. just some days ago I had the oportunity of watching the movie based on it: beautiful!

best regards.
I think my favourite book is Alice in Wonderland. I love reading, but in most of the times, I just can't read one book more than the first time. But Alice I read more times. It is amazing the magic world that Lewis Carrol created.

I want to say that I love policial (romances policiais) books too, how can I say it? It has an autor called Luis Alfredo Garcia Rosa that is my favourite.
I really love reading, but I always have serious problems to choose my favourite books; I'm so indecisive! but I think the best books I read this year are The Hunger Games Triology and Memoirs of a Geisha.
I don't have a favorite book, but i really enjoyed one called "100 dias entre céu e mar" by Amyr Klink. It's about a real adventure that the writer did. He crossed the Atlantic ocean alone by rowing boat in one hundred days.
There's another one that is very nice and it was writen by the same writer, it's called "Entre dois polos"... well, I won't describe it, but i'd like to say that there are a lot of beautiful pictures in this one!
