Projects X has just been created, one of the various units of the business.

Hello!

I was researching a little bit more about this topic and I've found out one option as "company branch". Have you ever heard it? Do you believe it is correct?

Thanks in advance!

Felipe, I think there are two primary ways to think of the use of "branch" in the context of business. One is to speak of a branch as a 'sucursal', as in "a bank branch". The other is to speak of a business "branching out" into another area outside its traditional line of business, such as "a parts manufacture branching out into assembly work", meaning "começar um novo ramo". So in that sense you could speak of a new venture as a new branch of the business. So, yes, you're right, so long as your wording makes it clear which one you mean.
