The "virou bagunça" I couldn't think of a literal version, but somebody around here will come up with the expression. I just have given a general idea on how to express something in that sense.

Though I think "that's a crazy world" could work to both situations.
That's a crazy world! Who could imagine in their wildest dreams that you would be invited to this party...let alone show up around here!
