Hi, everybody
I would like to know whether these expressions "Lend me your hand" or "Lend me a hand" used to ask help are usual, commom or they are oldfahion expressions. And about "Lend (me) a helping hand".
Is the use of "give" instead of "lend" more frequently used?

Para complementar eu diria que "helping" neste caso é usado para se dar uma certa ênfase.Como disse o Henry,não é necessário.

No, there´s nothing old-fashioned about either "lend me a hand" or "give me a hand." They´re equally common.
However, you don´t need to insert "helping": it´s understood that if someone is going to give you a hand, it´s going to be to help and not to hinder! (At least in theory, eh?)
