Pretty fly: Essa expressão é canadense?

Heyy guys, how are you?

Well, I was having a dicussion with a student of mine and he asked me about the expression "pretty fly (for a white guy)" which is used in the song, with the same name, sung by The offspring. Looking for the meaning of "pretty fly" on the internet I could only find results according to the song lyrics. So, I was helping you could help me with this one telling me waht you know about it.
And i asked if it is canadian because as a bif fan of the band, this student of mine told me they're Canadian, so...
