Como utilizar o termo "dread"

Hello there,

Today I found here in the EE;
"I have learned to live each day as it comes, and not to borrow trouble by dreadind tomorrow."

My doubt is : Como o "dreading" é usado e o que ele significa nessa frase?

Procurei no fórum mas não achei um tópico feito para o "dread", e gostaria de saber como usa-lo e seus significados.
