To put through: Como utilizar

to put someont through = colocar alguém a par sobre um determinado assunto,
certo?

but...
colocar o meu colega para falar com ele.....how that could be said? --- I'll pass the case on to my friend and he'll talk to you?
pode ser assim?

Elaborando um pouco mais o que foi dito acima:

Ex 1. Secretária A recebe um telefonema de Mr X, querendo falar com o chefe dela, Mr B:
X: May I speak to Mr B? (Ou: Can you put me through to Mr B?)
A: Would you please hold, Mr X. Let me see if Mr B is available.
A: (calls B): Mr B, Mr X wishes to speak to you. May I put him through? (B says yes. Or he may say "Put him on [to my extension].)
A: [to X] Thanks for holding, Mr X. I'll put you through to Mr B now. Goodbye.

Ex 2. "A" falando com "B", e "C" acena que tb quer falar com B, depois que A terminar:
A: Ok, B, I'm glad I had the chance to talk to you. If you have a few more minutes, C would like to talk to you as well.
B: Sure, can you put him on?
A: He's right here. I'll put him on. (Or: I'm passing the phone over to him.)

A diferença reside em passar a conexão ou simplesmente passar o telefone para outra pessoa. Na questão feita acima, ficaria mais claro dizer "I'll put Z on, ok?" e se for para uma conexão de conferencia (3 pessoas), pode ser "I'll put Z on too, ok?"

Certamente não é a única maneira de dizer tais coisas, mas fica entre as mais comuns.

put through (to)

1. connect (an outside caller) (with sb on an internal extension)
   Secretary: "An outside call, Mr. Murdoch."
   Mr. Murdoch: "Oh, put him through."
   
   "When Mr. DuPinto comes on the line, you will put the call through to me."
2. convey (a message) (to sb), esp. by telephone.
   "Marlowe next put through a call to Bill Barnett of Caltech."

outro exemplo : (macmillan dictionary) if you put a person or call through, you connect someone to the person they want to speak to on the telephone - put sb/sth through to sb - Can you put me through to the accounting department, please? in your case : I'll put you through to Z ( como o Thomas ja citou)

Be aware that "to put through" has several other meanings in other contexts. For example, "I put you through a lot with Z." (I made you suffer a lot with Z.)
