Indeed abroad (and the traveler) is a well-rounded person; I mean, they learn a lot from their experience and they do use creativity (using language too). We lend plenty of joie de vivre in our descriptions and try to get the most of our experiences, whether at work, traveling, learning, etc.
That´s my feeling, even if I have never been abroad, but that´s what I have learned from the videos, interviews shown in TV and other media.
Plus, some encounters I have with native speakers of English right here in Brazil. And, for that matter, some speakers of English of other countries as well. A Russian, some Chinese, and plenty of French (don´t know why but the French has a particular liking of Joao Pessoa where I lived awhile).
Not to mention, the exchange of experiences and the temptative of using my poor Spanish skills with the Venezuelan and Latin countries at the time of the JMJ, in Brazil.
Not to mention that we are a communicative people by itself. I wonder how it would be if we had more and diverse means of communication, if cable TV was cheaper (not in quality, I mean), we would take off in terms of language and education (not to mention others things).
Thanks for sharing your experiences, videos and knowledge.
