Como dizer "dia 20" em inglês

Eu ja entendo toda aquela história de in, on referente às dates, mas, sem querer "aportuguesar" mas já "aportuguesando'", eu queria saber se tem como dar uma resposta mais simples mesmo, como só 'dia 5'. Exemplo:
- Quando é seu aniversário?
- Dia 20.
Tem como ser simples assim?

Acredito que dentro de um contexto há como simpificar.Para, por exemplo, "on the twentieth".Veja um contexto exemplo, retirado do Google:
This year was special because the start of Shaun's home stay nearly coincided with his birthday.
"My daughter's birthday is on the third, so I made a cake for both of them and we celebrated the night he got here," said Ilyne.
