Don't ou Haven't?
Oi,
Alguém aqui sabe a diferença de uso do "don't" e do "haven't".
Veja o exemplo:
I hope I haven't bored you. (tirei de um livro)
porque não pode ser
I hope I didn't bore you.
Abraço,

Hi Alessandro,
I can certainly understand your question. I often see various ways of expressing the same idea in other languages and it vexes me as well. However that is just what it is; another way of saying the same thing.
If I say "I hope I haven't bored you", it is the same as having said "I hope I didn't bore you" or "I hope what I said wasn't too boring for you" or "I hope what I said wasn't boring to you," etc etc.
There is an endless variety of ways for expressing the same thought. Granted there are shades of difference to each sentence, but the shades of difference are no different than the color of paint on a wall viewed at dawn, late morning, afternoon, evening and in at night with a lamp on: it's all pretty much the same.
Understand what I mean?
Good luck,

Na frase: Eu não falei com ele ainda, em Inglês o correto é "I haven't talked with him yet" ou "I don't talked with him yet"? E porque? Encontrei alguns posts aqui no EE sobre Don't X Haven't mas ainda não consegui entender. =/
Bell,
Formas possíveis:
I haven't talked with him yet.
I still haven't talked with him
"Still" implica maior decorrência de tempo. Uma demora maior.
I don't talked with him yet. (Incorreto)
Outra forma possível em AmE:
I didn't talk with him yet.
Exemplo semelhante retirado do Oxford:
I didn't receive a letter from him yet.
Bons estudos!

Entendi. Suas explicações são ótimas! Obrigada Donay
