To be allowed to: Como utilizar?

Olá, boa tarde!

Eu estava lendo umas frases com a expressão "to be allowed to" escritas por estudantes de inglês e vi coisas como:
"I'm not allowed to stay out late because I work hard during the day and at night I'm very tired."
Is it correct? Saying that you're not allowed to do something because of your own physical restrictions?

What about because of money? Can you say that you're not allowed to buy something because you don't have money?
Or that you can't spend any money because you have many debts to pay?
