My father's name... - Tradução em português

Início do capitulo 1 de Great Expectations. Consigo entender perfeitamente, porém quando vou traduzir, não consigo fazê-lo bem, pois minha tradução seria muito literal. Ex.: O nome da família de meu pai sendo Pirrip e meu nome de batismo Phillip, minha língua infantil podia fazer de âmbos nomes nada mais....

My father's family name being Pirrip, and my Christian name Philip, my infant tongue could make of both names nothing longer or more explicit than Pip. So, I called myself Pip, and came to be called Pip.
