Eu fiquei na dúvida ele estava se referindo à pele humana ou à de bichos, mas como no exemplo foi escrito "em peles" eu deduzi que seria a pele de bicho. Acho que o correto, para fazer menção à pele humana, seria usar "na pele" em vez de "em peles".
