Look pal, it's not up to me to decide.

Opção:

''It's not my job to decide...''
Hi guys,

Ainda com relação à expressão "caber a", como dizer, por exemplo:

a porção que cabe a mim
a fração que cabe à fulaninha
etc?

Cheers!

''Caber'' parece significar "pertencer" neste caso. Se for assim, sugiro "belong". Mas ainda temos que saber "porção/fração" (de que?)

O contexto é importante.

My suggestion:

It's not my call.

You can say your share is such and such. Let´s say, you and Donay worked in a project, it took for days to be finished and you will receive $ 1,000 for the (completed) work.
Thus, your share (a parte que lhe cabe) is $ 250, and Donay´s share is $ 250 as well.
Assuming you had agreed to divide it equally into two parts.

=======================
In some other more abstract contexts:

Your contribution (sua parte) will be by teaching a group of pupils, or you may pay a friend to do so.

Your share of responsibility (sua parte) is to run the shop while we are away.

You are responsible (sua parte será a contabilidade...)for the accounting of the company.

You will not need to take any steps in this matter.
(Não é necessária qualquer iniciativa da sua parte para este efeito.)

And other ways to say that. Let´s wait for more to come...

The third indicator is the fraction of income pertaining to the poorest 20% of the population.

Que tal? ;)

Very enlightening, PPAULO. Muito obrigada! :)

 Obviously it´s a bit of a stretch, unless the culprit was another dog and this one had no say on this!
I just couldn´t help it laughing...

-I don´t have a say in this matter.
-I have no say in this (decision).
-Nothing that I do or say will make any difference, it´s decided already.
-I have no say in this situation.
-I have no say in this at all.
-I have zero chance of getting what I want, the decision is theirs.
-As for Molly, I have no say in this case.

-I have no say in this. You don´t get it! (apologetically, kind of.)
