Como dizer "ter um ranço" em inglês

Acredito que dizer “I got the ick” é o mais próximo de peguei ranço.

Achei esse post pelo Google, eu moro na gringa ha mais de 15 anos, então eu aprendi varias expressões e ao mesmo tempo me dei conta de como existem imprecisões nas traduções que os brasileiros usam e tb no que a gente aprende na escola na matéria de Ingles no Brasil.
Agora mesmo eu me peguei pensando sobre como seria dizer "peguei ranço" e achei essa pagina. Rancid eh acido, azedo, mas pode ser que seja o equivalente perfeito de ranço, do mesmo modo que bitter (amargo) faz referencia a sabor.
Mas não eh muito usual de qualquer maneira, e não soa bem. Princ. Por não ser um substantivo.
Eu acho que uma expressão mais apropriada seria dizer "take a disliking". Não eh exata mas se aproxima.

Exatamente esse pode ser o sentido:

"To be bitter about something."

Another way to state that would be "I find it pretty damn disgusting what Israel (or any other country, group, etc) is doing" or "I can't statnd the way Israel behaves" (in some particular case/in this particular case, not to generalize).

There is also the "pegar ranço":
Big Bother viewers took a dislike of him...(pegaram ranço dele)

After Mbappe having talked bad about Conmebol, the Brazilian soccer fans tooi an instant dislike of him.

("ranço" can be as above, any "fleeting" or "temporary" dislike).

Sometimes, in relationships, after a breakup the "want to see the back" of the ex, may be understood as a "ranço" (indirectly, I mean).

The dating was going well, but his taste in music made her get the ick!/...gave her the ick! (deu ranço de repente por alguma 'coisinha' que a pessoa fez).

And there is the "having a negative/yuky feeling about" someone or something, where the guy or thing gets newheere near your guts.

My best translation for this is revulsion or repulsion.

Or still as in:

Malignity - is having an evil disposition against someone else. (malignidade, ter um ranço contra alguém, uma predisposição contra alguém).
Whisperers - are individuals that partake in evil gossiping and are peace breakers.

With teenagers cliques, someone of the group could just don´t like your guts (não ir com sua cara), so he/she 'teria um ranço de mim/contra mim".
Outside teenagers' cliques it could have to do with intolerance or some kind of prejudice (or just the person doesn´t like your guts for no particular reason).

I think something "...by nature" would express that in some cases:
He is moody/peevish/grumpy/sulky by nature.

As in:
"don´t worry, he is sulky by nature. It´s just his way, with time he will get acquainted with you and will open up/show a positive attitude and sense of humor."

Of course, "ranço" is hard to express in English with a one-word term, it might come in several (possible) packages, ha ha!

Another one would be:
It´s a general consensus that he doesn´t have a sense of humor...

Indeed "pet peeve" is more in the sense of "algo que incomoda/minha zanga/o que eu odeio/o que me incomoda," to something that particularly lets us particularly peeved. It´s more "ranço" in with the meaning of "zanga", but sometimes in the sense of "bias" or even "unconscious bias".

By the way, "unconscious bias" would be another synonym with '"ranço". Another would be that feeling that someone "can´t stand" something (noises, for example) in a grumpy way. That is, that someone is particularly sensitive to noises, could be against perceived intrusions in their privacy.

Let´s wait for more, there are cases and cases with this word, it isn´t difficult to translate if not in a case by case basis (or almost).

Eu tenho traduzido conversas informais e não acredito que traduções literais me permitem dar o ar da informalidade, afetividade ao mesmo tempo que não perca o sentido que a pessoa quis dar (e nesse caso não foi como brincadeira).

De todas formas acho que "resentful", "bitter", "hurt" or "holding a grudge" podem ser boas traduções dependendo do sentimento que a pessoa quis expressar.

Não há uma expressão ou palavra com o mesmo peso semântico de "ranço" na linguagem coloquial do Brasil já que é usado muito como uma brincadeira. Qqr tradução ou palavra parecida teria o sentido literal. Mas pelo visto "hate", "upsetting" ou "disgusting" podem ser usadas nesse contexto mais jocoso.

"Injustice" here, because it could be real a real or perceived event.

The other answers were in that direction as well, so I am in good company on this one.

Sim, eu percebi. Por isso não sei se "bitter" me convence pra usar no contexto que eu preciso (tava tentando explicar, não sei se ficou claro).

Vou usar "resentful" tentando fazer jus ao sentimento explicado.

Pra o contexto que eu preciso, acho que resentful é a melhor tradução.
Não só porque faz referência específica ao sentimento (justamente na forma usual que usamos a palavra "ranço"), mas também por não denotar que a pessoa possa ser "bitter".
Alguém me parece *ser* "bitter" mais do que um sentimento particular sobre alguma coisa. A gente guarda um ranço, a gente guarda "bitterness" por algo?

Conheço "bitter", "resentful", "hurt", "spiteful" and so on.

"bitter" me parece uma boa opção, mas tem haver com sabor e figurativamente feeling.
