High off: Significado

To be "high off something" could be that one is "intoxicated with it" (without using drugs, of course).
It´s that you are enjoying life, enjoying yourself, you are excited about life. You might be feeling exhilarated, satisfied, joyful and positive about it.

In the Eminen song I love the way you lie:
High off of love drunk from my hate
It's like I'm huffing paint and I love her the more I suffer

He (inescapably - given the type of song and lyrics) equals the state of being in love with her to being intoxicated (certainly compared in the drug sense as well) with her love, in such way that he loves her the he suffer...
That is, he is 'addicted to her love' or he has that feeling.
Sometimes being 'high off' life could be in that sense, one having that floating positive feeling without no apparent reason. Or could be that is just indescribable. But could be that one has chosen to be positive about life. Context would be the thing here, to know which to mean.

Então "high off life" é tipo "viciado na vida/em viver"?

High off life - seria "cheio de adrenalina/contente com a vida/sentindo gosto pela vida/sentindo-se alegre e movitado com a vida (com a fase da vida)/de bem com a vida/energizado, etc.

O problema, é que em música existem o tal do "double entendre", e além do mais o sentido pode estar certo mas a causa não. é o caso da música "High On Life" - cantada pelo cantor Kid Cudi.
Ali, a chance do duplo sentido "high off life" seria sim o mesmo de "high on life". Ou seja, "high off something" significando "high on something" no sentido de "viciado". Ou seja, ali é fácil concluir que se você vive a "high life" com dinheiro, fama, drogas (floating floating - for a reason, uh?), carros, mulheres, amigos de balada e aventuras, e rock & Roll.
And não por acaso ele diz na música "Help me. I am I'm od'in off the life" - eu estou tendo uma overdose (OD) de vida". Metáforas, meu velho, metáforas...
Od´in - overdosing...

Ou seja, ele diz "mãe não se preocupa, estou tendo apenas uma overdose de vida", e ao mesmo tempo se 'viciando' na diversão, em viver se divertindo. Equivalente, no caso, à dizer '"I am having a kick of having fun" (eu estou gostando de me divertir nisso tudo.) No caso dele, poderia sim traduzir "viciado em viver", viver nesse tipo de vida.
