Metatheoretical - Tradução em português

Pessoal estou com uma dúvida de tradução.
Estou lendo dois artigos importantes na minha área. Um é em inglês e outro é a tradução do primeiro.
O em inglês diz a seguinte frase:
"The six debates, which tend to be addressed singly and in isolation from each other in the literature, are then integrated at metatheoretical level."
A tradução no outro artigo fica:
"Os seis debates, que tendem a ser individualmente tratados e isolados pela literatura, são então reintegrados, num nível metafórico."
Minha dúvida é se essa tradução é correta? Pois a etimologia da palavra "methateoretical" está diretamente relacionada com o conceito de "metateoria" em português.
Não sei se é possível essa relação feita com a palavra "metáfora".

Minha dúvida é se essa tradução é correta? Pois a etimologia da palavra "methateoretical" está diretamente relacionada com o conceito de "metateoria" em português.
Não sei se é possível essa relação feita com a palavra "metáfora".

I don´t see how it could be metaphorical, the guy must have read it in haste.
Metaphor - (Cambridge Dict.)
an expression which describes a person or object in a literary way by referring to something that is considered to have similar characteristics to the person or object you are trying to describe Is a kind of comparison of sorts.
"The six debates, which tend to be addressed singly and in isolation from each other in the literature, are then integrated at metatheoretical level."
Os seis debates, que tendem a ser tratadas isoladamente e de forma isolada um do outro na literatura, são então integrados a nível metateórico (pra mim "metateórico - interdependentes ou paralelos, quanto á busca do resultado ou interdependentes quanto ao próprio resultado/estudo).
Ou melhor, "inter-relacionados" entre si.
The debates would be be in a "relational context", every one of them dealing with a point/topic or context. Every one of them (debates) would be or could be "around" some core (chosen) main topic.
They would be in a way, complementary or offer a "standing point" (parallel views and approaches to studying a certain topic).
