"tomar preço de gringo/de turista" is a slangy expression.

I will explain, many people may find it a 'touchy' subject to some people; sensitive, kind of.
It's an "extra", some street vendors, or at the beach, tourist places, could 'overcharge' you, taking advantage of people not knowing the fair price.
The same goes to domestic tourists, if you are not a local, chances are that you don't bargain, so take heed or beware of the "preço de turista".
That happens in many countries, this is how it's described in Brazil, at least in Rio. Another way to express that in this neck of the woods is "pra gringo é mais caro..."
