I have to remind that synonyms I came up with, depend on context.
"Doing weights", for instance, would be something like "malhar puxando ferro".
Do/doing weights in a sentence:
Do NBA players do weights?
Should athletes do calisthenics or weights?
Chelsea players don't do weights
If you're training for a race, doing weights before cardio could actually decrease your endurance.
Doing weights also may be a problem to Jiu Jitsu athletes, because they may end up to sore to move, calisthenics could be an option.
The combo doing weights-fighting could not be joint-friendly!
