Como dizer "Matar-se de fazer alguma coisa" em inglês

"Matar-se de/para" fazer algo no sentido de "esforçar-se muito","ralar",etc pode ser interpretado com "kill yourself to do/doing something."

Don't kill yourself trying to get the work done by tomorrow. It can wait.(Oxford)
Não se mate tentando terminar o trabalho até amanhã.Isto pode esperar.

-->Ele se mata de cozinhar no restaurante e os clientes só reclamam.
-->He kills himself cooking at the restaurant but even so the customers do nothing but complain.

-->Ela se mata de lavar roupa e ele não faz nada.
-->She kills herself washing clothes and he does nothing.

De acordo com o Oxford Escolar:
matar-se de fazer algo: to wear yourself out doing sth

Sendo assim:
Ele se mata de cozinhar no restaurante e os clientes só reclamam. --> She wears herself out cooking at the restaurant and the customers only complaim. (não gostei do final, alguém sugere um melhor, por favor?)

Ela se mata de lavar roupa e ele não faz nada. --> She wears herself out washing the clothes and he does nothing!

"... the customers do nothing but complain" ficou bem melhor que a minha.

Mais um exemplo relativo ao contexto:

Sherita treats them all like her children and she kills herself doing everything in the kitchen.(Google)
Sherita os trata como filhos e se mata fazendo tudo na cozinha.

"Kill him/herself" soa meio estranho a meu ver. Não que esteja errado, apenas fica estranho, não é muito usado. "To wear him/herself out" fica melhor, a meu ver.

Mais duas variantes:

"... Knocks herself out doing..."
"... Tires herself out doing..."
