Whether I eat x Whether to eat: Qual utilizar

Hi Guys!

I'm here once again to ask whether you think that it's correct to say:

1- I don't know whether I eat banana or apple.

2- I don't know whether to eat banana or apple.

Thanks a lot!.

A grammatical alternative to number 1 would be:

"I don't know whether I should eat a banana or an apple".

The indefinite article before "banana" and "apple" is indispensable in either case.
Hi guys

As you see it, is the first one incorrect? I mean, what's the difference in the translation?

Thanks in advance.

The second one is gramatically correct and natural; the first could be used only in colloquial ways, the receptor of the message would have to fill the gap with some word (with to or should as we pointed out, or other word.)
