Então se eu disser:
"He grazes his bike against a parked car".
Estaria correto?

When it "touches" some earth high up atmosphere it "grazes" or "grazes past" (if you wish). That is, there are some "touch/contact" up there, which slows it, but then it is somehow kicked away again. Sort of, for practical purposes.
An split or lesser asteroid would not only touch it, but come in, then it could be called a meteorite.
As in "Asteroid the size of a bus grazes past Earth"
