É gramaticalmente correto dizer: "I would have thought?"

Hi Guys,

Ex: " I would've thought that somebody would have told you"

Sei que é uma frase comum em inglês, mas não consegui achar uma explicação gramatical para sua utilização. Só me vem a mente que eu deveria apenas dizer "I've thought that" or I "thought that".
