As far as refers to question #3 you have chosen the incorrect option. You should have chosen option "a".

You "stand someone up," especially a boyfriend or girlfriend, when you deliberately don't go to meet them as you had agreed you would.

donay's given example "I believe there's nothing worse than being stood up" tells the story of someone--probably someone's girlfriend/boyfriend--upset about having to wait all day/night long for someone who deliberately failed to show up/keep an appointment.
