Let ... see to it that: Como funciona?

Senhores(as), estava assistindo uma apresentação de um Americano falando para homens casados e ele colocou a seguinte frase:

Let the wife see to it that she respect her husband.

Esta frase só faria sentido pra mim se fosse de uma das formas a seguir:

Let the wife see to it that she would respect her husband.
Let the wife see to it that she will respect her husband.

Na minha compreensação, o "that" esta lá como condição (ex.: desta forma, então, etc).

Alguem pode me ajudar a entender?
