Significado de Shot

A palavra "shot" também pode ser filme, tipo um filme curtinho? Ou mais para filmagem ou gravação mesmo? Porque em um video que vi mais ou menos de 8 minutos dando informações, um colega fez uma brincadeira com ele enquanto ele gravava e disse "I didn't want to ruim your shot". Esse shot pode ser filme?
