Em ciência política, o sistema de governo é a maneira pela qual o poder político é dividido e exercido no âmbito de um Estado. O sistema de governo varia de acordo com o grau de separação dos poderes, indo desde a separação estrita entre os poderes legislativo e executivo (presidencialismo), de que é exemplo o sistema de governo dos Estados Unidos, até a dependência completa do governo junto ao legislativo (parlamentarismo), caso do sistema de governo do Reino Unido. Banana republic: an insulting word for a tropical country that is considered to have a weak economy, a dishonest or cruel government, and public services that do not work
Big government: mainly american government that seems to have too much control over people’s lives
Caretaker government: a temporary government that is in charge of a country until a new government is elected
