Clean (verb, noun)
1 to make sth free from dirt or dust by washing or rubbing it: [vn] to clean the windows / bath / floor to clean a wound / Have you cleaned your teeth? (limpeza em geral)
Rub (verb, noun)
1 ~ sth (with sth) to move your hand, or sth such as a cloth, backwards and forwards over a surface while pressing firmly: [vn] Rub the surface with sandpaper before painting. (esfregar alguma coisa para que ela seja limpa)
Mop (verb, noun)
1 to clean sth with a mop: She wiped all the surfaces and mopped the floor. (esfregar com um esfregão)
2 ~ sth (from sth) to remove liquid from the surface of sth using a cloth: He took out a handkerchief to mop his brow (= to remove the sweat). (Ele tirou um lenço para enxugar a testa).
